While awaiting the additional parts for the forward closure I was reviewing some of the Tripoli Facebook comments and one user mentioned a ball valve option. I looked into it and it is possible but the hardest part is acquiring the tank adapter, which I found. I was able to get a 5/8-18 UNF thread adapter to 1/8 NPT. This made it possible to utilize a stainless ball valve with a PTFE seat while also providing full flow to the injector plates. I had one small obstacle as the corners of the wrench lands on the adapter bushing were too big so they had to be hand filed to allow the O-ring to seat properly on the tank.
Once the adapter was fitted to the tank, a Ninja paintball 3000 psi 22 cubic inch, the ball valve was fitted with a remote adapter that had the threads reprofiled to fit the fwd housing.
I bought two remote adapters for this test, the other will be used for the test stand to make it easier to use a remote nitrous bottle. It uses a 8mm quick disconnect which will mate up with the remote adapter.
Pictured below is the 22 cubic inch attached to a 54/852 Aerotech case and the 13 cubic inch as well.
The 13 cubic inch tank has the original pin valve configuration, both are to be tested.
