Lust 4 Thrust II
Building on what we learned from the 54mm Aerotech hybrid revival project, my son and I will be working on the 98mm version with some changes to the original design. There is a 7-hole injector vs the original 4, and we may have a shower head style as well. In addition, the tank has a larger capacity, 2L vs 1200cc, as we are going to have a 3-grain version to test.
The original 2 grain was a boosted composite with white lightning propellant and was an M850. We have plans for a three grain and are hoping for a low N impulse. We will also be moving on from the sorbitol-based grains to a paraffin/paper grain using high melt wax and paper mache doped with an additional oxidizer
Since I already have the rocket, my L3 project was built for this in addition to my certification attempt, we can spend more time developing the motor and should get some ground testing in before Balls. In contray to the 54mm launch in 2023 where we had to do the first live launch at Blackrock. I have acquired a RMTS data collection for motor testing and should have it assembled soon so that will give us more accurate thrust profiles.
